Your data, in plain English
What we collect
Short videos of your body (a one-time scan) and of clothes you try on. On iPhones with LiDAR we also record depth data alongside the video. We ask for your height (required — it's how we turn a scan into real measurements), your usual sizes, and how each item fits. Some volunteers also share tape measurements so we can check the scan's accuracy. We collect your email and name when you sign in.
What we don't collect
No weight, no location, no contacts, no advertising identifiers. We don't use third-party analytics beyond the basics built into Firebase.
Why we collect it
One purpose only: building and validating Fitted26's fit technology — the tool that will tell you how clothes fit before you buy. If we ever want to use your data for anything else, we'll ask you again first.
Where it lives
Your videos and depth data are stored in Google Cloud's London (europe-west2) region. Account details and fit feedback are stored in Google's Firestore database, which may hold data in the United States. If you're in Canada, that means your data is stored and processed outside Canada, and may be subject to the laws of those countries while it's there. We keep everything in one region rather than one per country so there are fewer copies of your data to protect. Everything is private to your account — no other user can see your captures.
Who can see it
The Fitted26 founder and the automated processing pipeline. Nobody else. We never sell your data, never share it with advertisers, and never use your videos for anything public.
How long we keep it
Raw videos and depth data: up to 24 months, or until you delete them — whichever comes first. When you delete your data it is removed from our systems immediately, and all residual copies (including backups) are permanently destroyed within 14 days. De-identified measurements derived from your scans may be kept longer once they can no longer identify you.
Your rights
Delete everything, any time, from Settings → Delete my data in the app — your account and data are removed immediately, every remaining copy is destroyed within 14 days, and we keep only a receipt showing the deletion happened. You can also ask us for a copy of your data, or withdraw consent (which is the same as deleting). UK users: you can complain to the ICO. Canadian users: to the OPC (or CAI in Quebec).
